Hmm… my favourite is probably one from the Hobbit. “Voiceless it cries, wingless flutters, toothless bites, mouthless mutters”

I like the Monty Hall problem, not only because it is mentioned in the 2008 movie “21”. Wikipedia formulates it as follows (referencing a 1990 magazine):
“Suppose you’re on a game show, and you’re given the choice of three doors: Behind one door is a car; behind the others, goats. You pick a door, say No. 1, and the host, who knows what’s behind the doors, opens another door, say No. 3, which has a goat. [The host] then says to you, ‘Do you want to pick door No. 2?’ Is it to your advantage to switch your choice?”
I don’t know many riddles… Emma’s answer reminded me of the one in the 4th Harry Potter!
“First think of the person who lives in disguise,
Who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies.
Next, tell me what’s always the last thing to mend,
The middle of middle and end of the end?
And finally give me the sound often heard
During the search for a hard-to-find word.
Now string them together, and answer me this,
Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?”
