I’m a thirty-year-old French mathematics researcher. I write and speak English fluently (with an accent that does mostly show up in oral communication!). I grew up in a small French town called Saumur, which is famous for its cavalry school and its fine wines. I have been living in Galway city for the past three years, where I work at the university. Among other things, I enjoy playing the violin (classical) in my spare time.

My research work deals with simulation of head trauma. I write equations to describe the motion of the brain once someone gets hit. I also write code to be used for computer simulations. My research topic is interesting because the head is a kind of black box to explore. Indeed, we cannot easily make pictures or perform measurements inside the skull.
-
My Typical Day
I have a banal morning routine. At work, I read, write, and chat with colleagues. Then, I walk the dog and have a violin practice.

What I'd do with the prize money
Organise school visits
